To participate in a ministry, members must meet the following criteria:
- Complete the Membership Class 101.

Meet with the Servant Leader, or their designee, to discuss the ministry prior to participating.
- Regularly attend worship services.

Lead a lifestyle consistent with the Church Covenant and Articles of Faith of Second Baptist Church.

BREAD BASKET FOOD PANTRY
Our Food Pantry is open to the public and members in need of food. Items for the pantry are provided by the Second Baptist congregation, Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH
This ministry’s mission is to educate, guide and nurture all children ages 2-12 using a biblically based curriculum that will enhance their spiritual journeys. To qualify as part of this ministry, a routine police background check would be requested. This is for the protection of our children.

CHILDREN’S BAND

CLOTHING MINISTRY
This ministry provides gently used clothing and shoes to anyone in need. Once a year school supplies are offered to children and youth within the community who are returning to school.

FOOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
This ministry offers a hot meal once a month, every fourth Saturday of the month. This community ministry offers an opportunity for our members to serve and fellowship with the community in a very practical way.

HERITAGE MINISTRY
This Heritage ministry maintains all the papers and artifacts pertaining to Second Baptist Church history in the Heritage Room. As “Keepers of the Culture” ministry members organize the annual heritage celebration, which highlights the talents, heritage and history of our church family. Local talent and businesses also participate and support our annual event.

MUSIC AND WORSHIP ARTS MINISTRY
Music Ministry: This ministry teaches and encourages our young children, youth and adults how to praise, worship and show their love for God through singing as members of our Cherub Children’s Choir, Youth Choir, Mass Choir, Male Chorus and Praise Team.
Mime Ministry: This ministry encourages adult and youth members to bring the message of praise and deliverance through the art of pantomime.
Dance Ministry: This ministry encourages adult and youth members to bring the message of praise and deliverance through the art of liturgical dance.

NURSES’ CORPS
Working within the limits of our training, a church nurse does not function as a medical professional but rather as a concerned, caring health care aid. We serve God and the congregation by assisting the sick, handicapped, children and elderly while they are visiting our church.

PRAYER COTTAGE
Members of our Prayer Cottage ministry go out two Thursdays a month to visit the sick and shut-in, bringing them a little joy and sunshine through God’s Word, prayer and singing. If you believe God has called you to minister to the sick, please contact us.

PRAYER MINISTRY
This ministry is known as the “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and is our midweek intercessory prayer ministry. Ministry is held each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. – just prior to Bible Study. If you have a heart for intercessory prayer and are available during the day, this ministry is for you. Together prayer ministry members, empowered by the Holy Spirit, pray for our Pastor, our church, our families, our community, our country, and our world.
