Second Baptist Church is dedicated to seeing children and teenagers develop a spiritual relationship with Christ. There are many exciting and inspirational classes and activities for all age groups. Our church provides a nursery for infants and toddlers. We also provide a caring and secure environment for this age group while their parents attend worship services, as well as Sunday School classes from Kindergarten to Adult.

Pastor Washington wants to pray with you through this ordeal. Because surgery is usually done early morning, please contact Pastor Washington, Deacon of the Week, through the Church Office 614.253.4313 as soon as the time of the surgery has been determined. If it is after hours, please leave a message.

Call Pastor Washington, and The Deacon of the Week by contacting the Church Office. We are unable to visit or pray for you unless we are properly informed.

If it is after hours, please leave a message. Please confirm funeral arrangements and details of the funeral program with Pastor Washington before finalizing with the funeral home. For non-members that are related to Second Baptist members, please inform the church office so that the appropriate condolences may be extended.

Baby Dedications take place by arrangement with Pastor Washington. Please contact Sister Dot Whitaker by email dwhitaker@secondbaptistcolumbus.com or call her at 614.253.4313. Baptists do not “Christen” or baptize infants. Our blessed babies are “Dedicated” to God.

All announcements to be placed in the coming Sunday’s Announcements must be received by the Church Office no later than Noon each Wednesday prior to the Sunday you wish them to be announced.

Communion is available to members who are unable to come to church. It will be administered in homes, only to members who call the Church Office 614.253.4313 no later than Noon on the Friday before each First Sunday.

Baptism occurs on the First Sunday of each month at the beginning of our 10:45 a.m. service. For more information or to register to be baptized please contact the Deacon of the Week or the Deaconess Ministry by calling the Church Office at 614.253.4313.

We offer a variety of Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 10:30 a.m.

Contact the Church Office to arrange to ride the Church Van by Thursday before the Sunday you want to come to church. You will need to provide your name, number of persons, address and a valid contact telephone number for confirmations.

All persons desiring to be married by Pastor Washington must first complete our pre- marital classes. Please contact Sister Dot Whitaker (614.253.4313 or by email dwhitaker@secondbaptistcolumbus.com) for further information regarding pre-marital classes. Pastor and Minister Washington currently conduct classes.
  2. All persons desiring to hold their wedding at Second Baptist Church must contact Sister Jadon Nious (614.253.4313) to complete an application and make the deposit.
  3. Wedding programs should be discussed with Pastor Washington and approved before printing.

Communion Service is held during the 10:45 a.m. worship service on the First Sunday of each month.

You may join Second Baptist Church in one of two ways: either during one of our services or through completion of the Membership 101 class. For more information, please contact our Church Office 614.253.4313.

Second Baptist Church offers Children’s Church for children ages 3-9 during our worship service. Also, we have Sunday School available for children and youth as well during the Sunday School hour.

We encourage you to request prayer for your situation. Whether for intercession, a wedding, birth of a baby, your illness or that of a loved one or neighbor…whatever the reason, we want to pray for and with you. If you have a prayer request, please feel free to submit it in one of the following ways:
