This is a small group ministry that provides fellowship, Bible study and encouragement to the women of Second Baptist Church.

Bread Basket Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry is open to the public and members in need of food. Items for the pantry are provided by the Second Baptist congregation, Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Children’s Church

This ministry’s mission is to educate, guide and nurture all children ages 2-12 using a biblically based curriculum that will enhance their spiritual journeys.  To qualify as part of this ministry, a routine police background check would be requested.  This is for the protection of our children.

Communications Ministry

The Communications Ministry supports all ministries and auxiliaries of the church with the development and creation of communication and public relations materials, including but not limited to, photography, graphics, press releases, public service announcements (TV, Radio and Internet), banners, and printed or electronic promotional materials. The Ministry also supports the periodic updating of the Church website with photographs and other materials.

Children’s Band

The Children’s Band teaches children how to love and serve God and is designed to develop and promote a mission’s emphasis.

Evangelism Ministry: FoMW

This ministry advances the kingdom of God on earth by supporting our Food Pantry Ministry; and by advertising service events to our neighborhood with fliers, providing prayer walks, and offering door-to-door evangelism while allowing for inclusion with neighboring churches.

Event Planning Ministry

This ministry provides assistance to those holding events (i.e., weddings, birthdays, anniversaries) at the church.

Faith Missions

Purchase and prepare breakfast monthly for approximately 300 homeless individuals at the Faith Mission Homeless Shelter once a month on the third Saturday.

Food In The Neighborhood

This ministry offers a hot meal once a month, every fourth Saturday of the month.  This community ministry offers an opportunity for our members to serve and fellowship with the community in a very practical way.

Health & Wellness Ministry

Working within the limits of our training, a church nurse does not function as a medical professional but rather as a concerned, caring health care aid. We serve God and the congregation by assisting the sick, handicapped, children and elderly while they are visiting our church.

Heritage Ministry

This Heritage ministry maintains all the papers and artifacts pertaining to Second Baptist Church history in the Heritage Room.  As “Keepers of the Culture”, ministry members organize the annual heritage celebration, which highlights the talents, heritage and history of our church family.  Local talent and businesses also participate and support our annual event.

Hospitality Ministry

These ministry members greet visitors as they enter Second Baptist Church for the first time; and make everyone feel welcome in the house of the Lord.

Kitchen Cabinet Ministry

The Kitchen Cabinet ministry provides food service for events such as fellowship breakfasts, leadership breakfasts, special receptions and Easter celebration events held at the church

Men’s Ministry

This ministry for men meets monthly for a breakfast meeting, fellowship, and Bible Study.  We believe men should regularly meet together for the common purpose of worshiping and praising God.  “…to dwell together in unity.”  Psalm 133:1

Men’s Usher Ministry

This ministry is for men who have been called to politely greet and escort worshippers to their seat.  They collect the offering, and are available to assist worshippers throughout services held in the sanctuary.

New Member Mentor Ministry

Help new members become acclimated to the church, especially during their first 3 months; help them learn about ministry opportunities within the church; Provide opportunities for new members to meet other members; Encourage new members to grow spiritually by becoming involved with prayer groups, Bible Study and Sunday School.

Prayer Ministry

This ministry is known as “Sweet Hour of Prayer” and is our midweek intercessory prayer ministry.  Ministry is held each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. – just prior to Bible Study.  If you have a heart for intercessory prayer and are available during the day or the evening, this ministry is for you.  Together prayer ministry members, empowered by the Holy Spirit, pray for our Pastor, our church, our families, our community, our country, and our world.

Transportation Ministry

This Ministry provides transportation to and from Sunday Worship services and Vacation Bible School.
